CENTRE LEADER
Centre Leaders are expected to manage and provide leadership for the delivery of a quality child care centre curriculum and ensure effective daily operations, financial management, manpower planning and management of the centre.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to market and maintain the school’s student enrolment to maximise the school capacity
- Manage cost control in all aspects of school operations
- Carry out daily operations in compliance with industry regulations, the policies, philosophy, and procedures of the child care centre, and ensure staff work within the early childhood curriculum
- Together with the Curriculum and Pedagogy team, provide leadership to teachers in quality early childhood curriculum design, development and implementation
- Coach and support teachers to monitor, assess, document and maintain evaluation and assessment of children’s learning and development
- Select, coach and mentor teachers to maximise their professional relationship with parents, working relations with colleagues and teaching performance for the growth of students under their care
- Maintain students’ records and teacher to child ratio as required by the Ministry and where necessary stand in as class teacher to maintain such ratio
- Maintain the school physical condition and facilities, to provide learning a safe and nurturing environment for the children
- Establish and maintain positive and effective communication with parents and the school community
- Organise school events to support cultural, festive events, racial harmony and green environment
- Ensure centre's service meet ECDA framework, SPARK and licensing requirements
Role Expectations:
- Lead centre to develop culture and governance
- Engage team to maintain their morale and discipline
- Implement supervision and guidance strategies
- Model professionalism with centre’s stakeholders (staff, children, parents, community partners, etc)
- Establish appropriate follow up actions in a timely manner based on accurate and objective analytical techniques
- Comfortable in using appropriate technology solutions to improve Centre’s efficiency
Requirements:
- Pre-School Education Leadership (DPE-L) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership (DECCE-L), Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Centre Leadership (ADECL), or its equivalent recognised by ECDA
- A minimum of five years of leadership experience is preferred; however, candidates with less experience may be considered based on overall suitability
- Good knowledge and application of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
- Good knowledge and application of government regulations and quality assurance framework (Regulatory Framework, Code of Practice)
- Intermediate knowledge of early intervention strategies and working experience with children with special needs will be an advantage
- Matured, exemplary leadership and management skills are essential
- High level of competency in planning and management centre’s operations, budget, income and expenditure
- Work effectively with various stakeholders, authorities and organisations

- Ensures children’s safety & well-being while under the centre’s care
- Work together with main teacher and parents in assessing children’s developmental growth
Requirements
- Possess Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (FCECCE)
- At least 1 year of working experience in a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- Positive working attitude and has the passion and drive to care and nurture early learners
- Able to work collaboratively with other team members
- OJT will be provided to the successful candidate

Responsibilities

- Minimum Secondary 2 education completion with good credit in Malay Language

- Positive working attitude and has the passion and drive to care and nurture early learners
- OJT will be provided to the successful candidate
